Dezsi is currently representing on appeal Sgt. Jeffrey Sarver who was portrayed in the Oscar-winning film “The Hurt Locker.”  In his lawsuit, Sgt. Sarver alleges that his life story was taken without his permission and made into the feature film “The Hurt Locker.”  The lawsuit names as Defendants both Mark Boal who wrote the screenplay of the film, and Oscar-winning Director Kathryn Bigelow as well as the film’s Producer and Distributor.  The lawsuit which is currently pending on appeal before the Ninth Circuit centers on whether Sgt. Sarver’s right of privacy trumps the First Amendment rights of Hollywood film makers.
